Smack Down Your Vote!

On Saturday June 22, Hawaii Pro Wrestling held its first Smack Down Your Vote promotion at the HPW "Rock Solid" show at the Civic Auditorium in Hilo Hawaii.

The HPW fans response to the Smack Down Your Vote promotion was awesome! HPW registered close to 50 new voters at the Rock Solid event! Thanks to the WWE, HPW was able to give away free Smack Down Your Vote Pins, and T-Shirts to help with the Smack Down Your Vote promotion.

HPW representative "HPW Commissioner K.C." organized the event and also invited the students of two Big Island High schools "Ka’u High and Honokaa High School" to attend the show free of charge. Mr. Revell had this to say about the event:

"The fans response to the Smack Down Your Vote campaign was overwhelming. I expected to register about 10 or so new voters, but instead we did close to 50! Hawaii has one of the poorest voter turn out, I hope along with the help of the WWE we can help to make a difference and spread the word among young people.

I would like to thank all the fans that attended the Rock Solid event, and made the Smack Down Your Vote promotion in Hilo a big success. I’d also like to thank the WWE and especially Kate Cox for helping to make the promotion a huge success by supplying promotional pins and T Shirts. We are looking forward to working with the WWE and the Smack Down Your Vote program next year!"

HPW Joins WWE Smack Down Your Vote!

HAWAII PRO WRESTLING JOINS THE WWE

Hilo, Hawaii -- June 11, 2002 – Local Professional Wrestling promotion Hawaii Pro Wrestling joins the WWE "World Wrestling Entertainment" Smack Down Your Vote Campaign.

The Smack Down Your Vote program is a community service program sponsored by the WWE and several other corporations aimed at getting High School seniors, and college students to have their voice heard by voting. Hawaii State House Rep. Colleen Meyer (R) is the official Smack Down Your Vote chair person for Hawaii.

HPW plans to visit Big Island High Schools, and UH Hilo next school year to promote the Smack Down Your Vote Program. Commissioner Ken Candido recently had this to say about the Smack Down Your Vote campaign:

"We are very excited to be a part of the WWE Smack Down Your Vote Program. We are looking forward to working with the future voters of Hawaii and making a huge difference in the community.

The WWE Smack Down Your Vote Program also offers lucrative incentives to students. The WWE is offering several scholarships to students that make the biggest impact. Students can also win a visit from a WWE super star!

HPW is adding our own twist to the Smack Down Your Vote program. We recently invited all students of Ka’u and Honokaa High Schools to attend our HPW Rock Solid wrestling event scheduled this month for free. We will be promoting Smack Down Your Vote at the June 22^nd event scheduled in Hilo at the Civic Auditorium by giving away free Smack Down Your Vote buttons, and T-shirts.

HPW has contacted several high schools on The Big Island, however only Ka’u High and Honokaa High have responded. We challenge the Principals of all Big Island Schools, make a difference and promote voting among young people Smack Down Your Vote!"

Commissioner Candido will be on had at the Smack Down Your Vote rally this Saturday, on Oahu at the State Capitol. WWE superstars Rikishi and Ivory are scheduled to be guest speakers at the free community event.

Proving Grounds Results.

 

HPW shook the Civic down to its foundation last night at Proving Grounds! Major events went down at Proving Grounds, fans witnessed major events that changed HPW forever.

 

At Proving Grounds HPW saw its commissioner Ken Candido turn his back on The Polynesian Kid and the fans, witnessed the worlds best cruiserweight Rey Mysterio Jr. renew his title as "Giant Killer" as he defeated Shin Ku, felt the awesome power of Lightning Leni as he defeated The Blue Meanie, and experienced the awesome presence of the IXWF/NWA Hawaii. SHOCKWAVE 2002 Results.

 

On 3/8/02 HPW blew the roof off of the Sangha Hall auditorium in Hilo for SHOCKWAVE 2002 HPW's first event of the new year! Hilo saw the debut of "The Worlds Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, Ryan Shamrock, Tough Enough Taylor. Mike Taylor, Sick Dog, J.T. Wolfin, and Nemisis. Many people have been saying that SHOCKWAVE 2002 was the best pro wrestling event ever in Hilo! Below is the list of results of SHOCKWAVE 2002.

IN MEMORY OF LOGAN RAGE.

 

HPW is deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our sons Logan Rage. Shockwave 2002 will be dedicated in the memory of Logan Rage. Commissioner Ken Candido Had this announcement. 

 

" I am deeply saddened to announce the passing of one of our own. Brother Logan Rage was taken from us too soon. Although I know he is shining down on us as I write this announcement, I cannot help but think that this is some kind of bad dream.  

 

For those of you who did not know Logan, he was one of the most humble, kind human beings I have ever met. Logan was a happy person full of love and full of life. He is the kind of person that is friends with everyone, would always be positive and never talk down about anyone. I don't think there was a sole out there that did not like Logan Rage.

 

At only 19 years of age, Logan was a promising young athlete whose professional wrestling career was just about to begin. Logan always gave 1000% and never complained even while practicing battered, brushed, and with a dislocated shoulder. He was truly a professional.

 

I urge all HPW fans to show support for Logan Rage. Bring your signs, banners, or flags to show Logan and his family your support. HPW will also be arranging a donation fund to help Logan's family with expenses. 

 

Our thoughts and prayers go out to brother Logan and his family. We love you brother Logan, you will live on in our hearts and in our memories of your joyous life."
